Worst case scenario you drop a valve and it blows up your engine

The sanded and buffed and clear coated panel .... not quite show quality ....
Bought a stainless tailgate cover, didn't quite fit without some coercion, and a simple aluminum angle bar to cover the tailgate window opening since this will be a permanent soft topper.

Sweet! They look like they belong on it.

They look really good with the truck. Do you have a cap for it as well? I dont remember seeing one yet.

I'm usually not a fan of modern wheel styles on square body's but those go with the style of the truck nicely!

You mean wheel cap or bed cap ? :-)
The top is getting to the top of my list.
I retired the hardtop back in the 90's and then it got kinda destroyed so there's no going back.
I bought a Kayline softop because I thought they had really nice lines ... replaced it once .. now they are out of business bought by Softtopper maybe but the style I think is no more?
I can't find a picture of it up on my truck so this second pic is just to show the style.
Mine needs a bit of repair, I'll try some fabric repair, if that doesn't work I'll take it to an upholsterer and maybe they can sew a patch on it since its not in a very visible spot.
It took a hit from a tree limb.
Good news is the plastic is polishing up ok, I tested a spot on the lower left driver side window.

I appreciate the comments on the wheels, obviously I spent some time trying to figure out the best match.
Even my neighbor who prefers closer to original restorations (and hates my bull bar) likes the wheels.
I think the BFs with the RWL are more period appropriate.
