Good choice on the TBI 4.3, I had one in my old pickup, and they are pretty stout. As far as wiring, if you had a TBI 2.8, the wiring should be very very similar, if not the same. The harnesses aren't too complicated, btw. As far as tuning, I don't believe you need to switch ECMs completely, but rather the PROM chip. You can get a custom tune from PCM for less for about $80 if I remember correctly. I'm running a tune from them in my camaro and it gets the job done. As far as your fuel system, you probably wouldn't have to make any changes. TBI systems don't use very much fuel pressure, and as long as you are staying with your in-tank TBI pump you'll be alright.

One thing though, does your blazer have a cable driven or electic speedometer? The '91 should have an electric speedometer. There is an adapter which you would need if you have a cable speedo. I bought mine on ebay from TPI parts I believe, but let me know if you need help finding it.

As far as bolting the motor in, i'm not sure what differences there will be. Motor mounts will be a must at least

For more power, you should be able to pick up a little over stock should you get a tune, also, cam swaps are possible, along with roller rockers, intake manifold, headers, it all depends on how far you want to go with it. You could always swap the stock stuff in and go back later should you want more power

There is a sensor in the side of the transmission called the Vehicle Speed Sensor or VSS. It generates voltage when rotating which is sent to the ECM. The ECM then powers a small electric motor in the speedometer which will indicate speed and work the odometer. You can check this quickly by looking at the drivers side of the transmission towards the back. Either you will have a cable or a sensor with a connector on it.

I was doing some research on that a while back. I'm assuming you are talking about the newer style vortec heads. The heads bolt up, but they have a totally different intake bolt pattern. So you would have to run it with the newer style intake and electronics. At that point you would be better off with a newer style complete engine.

The heads you've got are known for flowing pretty poorly. Some mild porting would help out, but even the newer style heads don't flow that great. For your information, they are known as vortec heads also, but they are just different. I believe what you've got made 160 hp new while the most a naturally aspirated 4.3 made new was 195.
