1994 v8 4x4 s10 blazer tahoe
Once again I'm taking advantage of this beautiful weather , I got quite abit done today . I finally ordered the remote oil filter I needed from jegs . And I also tore the hole dash out and got rid of a bunch more wires , and I almost have the transmission lines hooked up I just need to get a couple compression fittings . And I hooked up the throttle cable , so now all I have to do is install the gas pedal . I also noticed some fluid in the bell housing area of the transmission , I can't tell if it's transmission fluid from when I put the torque converter in or if the rear seal is installed wrong . I haven't even had it running yet , but when I put the torque converter in fluid did spill out . I really hope thats what it is , but we'll see , I'm so tempted to just pull it back out and go back through it .
I mainly tore the dash out so I could remove all the duct work , and get rid of the wires I don't need . Also it will be easier to make my fire wall with it removed . I think I will make my own duck work so I can still defog my windshield , and take the chill off on them rainy mud race days .

Its ALIVE , I installed the remote oil filter and the distributor and spark plug wires . Primed the oil system and then I got in the blazer and as soon as I hit the key it started . I wasn't really expecting it to start so easy , I don't have the exhaust manifolds yet so I immediately shut it down . But now todays mission , go find some exhaust manifolds so I can start it . Then I'll be able to move it around under its own power instead of with the 4 wheeler . My garage even thought its 150' x 75' is not big enough , during the winter most of the equipment gets stored in here . I think I may have to add on to the garage , make it a blazer bay only . Any suggestions on what intake manifold and carb and cam I should look into , I am going with a nitrous system , probably a 2 stage dual shot cheater . I have never used nitrous before so if anyone thinks I'm choosing the wrong set up please let me no .
Today my friend hooked me up with a bunch of stainless conduet so I can plum my radiator . Definatly been supper busy , yesterday I had to take the bucket loader over to my buddies house and unload his new 2 1/2 ton Rockwell axles . And man I would love to have a set of those to throw under the blazer , I think they weigh as much as my blazer . I should get my tax refund here anyday , and I may sell my bike for some additional fundage , then the progress will begin . Its kinda funny because right now ( with in a 10 mile area ) I personally know of 5 pretty awesome mud truck builds going on , not including myself . But as for thinking out of the box I got them all beat , ha ha
Finally I'm back at it , I injured my neck saterday afternoon and have done nothing but sleep and have the worst headache ever , I still don't feel quite right but it's good to be able to move again . This morning I went and picked up my new exhaust manifolds and some other odds and ends . Now I have to run to 2 different autozones to get all the install hardware , I could just wait but I want to take a test ride around the shop . I'm still waiting on my tax return but thats probably a good thing I have been looking at several axles with several different gear ratios . I found a nice complete dana 30 out of a 94 jeep wrangler for $200 with 4.11s but I still have not made my mind up .
Nope , no rear he already sold it , he said he would have another set for sale in a couple weeks . I spent the whole day yesterday tracking down parts and looking at different axles , I still have not made up my mind . Its going to be the yj or a wagoneer axle they have both and both will work . One of the exhaust manifolds that I bought yesterday won't fit , but luckily it was the driver side and the original one was still good . So I finally got the driver side exhaust done now on to the passenger side , that side is a piece of cake . I wanted to get the driver side done first so that I could install my oil dipstick and see how much oil I had in it with the 5 quarts , and theres none , the oil isn't even touching the dipstick . So now I have to wait to order some more oil or just mix it with some other oil , I don't know . I wanted to try and move it around tonight . Well no go on the moving it around , I have zero oil pressure , and its driving my nuts . This is basically a brand new friggen engine with all new race parts in the bottom end . The oil pump acts like its trying to work but it acts like theres something blocking the oil somewhere . I'm very frustrated at this point and giving up for the day . UPDATE it was the oil lines hooked up wrong , now I re primed the oil system and how awesome oil pressure . So I primed the carb and it fired , it took a couple times and I found a tear in the gas line , I replaced the line and fired her up . I am smiling ear to ear right now , it sounds so good . Its going to be awesome , I'll try and post a video tomorrow .

Today I finished pluming the coolant hoses and the transmission lines , I just got back from auto zone I had to get 15 quarts of tranny fluid at 8.99 a quart and a couple fittings , that killed 200 bucks like nothing . I have had it running several times today , so now I'm going to fill the transmission with fluid and see if she'll move . I was not able to get a video today , I tried but my camara won't work right . A bunch of my buddies came over tonight to check out my progress ( all chevy guys ) and they were amazed on how far I got and how good it looks , even with the stock 2 barrel carb ( pos ) it still runs great .
