Default 1998 Blazer build, Kentuckey Style!

Howdy y'all! I recently purchased a 1998 Chevy blazer 4x4 for $300 because the previouse owner couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start. It has 170,xxx miles on it, body and frame are in great condition. It replaced my 2000 blazer I blew the transmission out of(parting it out if anybody local needs any parts). So I towed it home with my '00 blazer which was fun because it only had first and third gear. When I got it home I started to try to diagnose it. First I checked the coil, spark plugs etc. Come to find out it was the fuel pump, no problem, all I did was drop the tank in the '00 and threw it in the '98 and she fired right up. Now I'm ready for modifications! The first thing I did was I yanked the front bumper valance off. Then I put the '00 grill on(which already had my lights attatched, planning on moving them in the future). I then went to the performance mods. I did the throttle body valve mod and I removed the screen in the MAF. So far I've noticed a considerable amount of throttle response and maybe even a little more power.

An almost running 98 for $300, not bad at all. Throw up some pics so we can see it.

Has all the heavy duty options too. How do I post pictures? Can I do it from a smart phone?

The throttle body mod just makes it "jumpy" on accel, that's all it does. It does not improve power, performance, or mileage. Better get another MAF sensor though, you're asking for trouble with the screen removed. Should be fine if you don't start the engine, but when you do, the problems will also start. The screen does two things: #1 it protects the elements in the sensor. #2 It "straightens" the air flow across the elements so the sensor can accurately measure the air flow.
