You shoulda got a v8 and just played dumb when it showed up!!

 

The goal right now is to get it running... without a knocking rod. If budget allowed I would get a V8.

did you get the computer with it?

 

It did not come with the computer. All I got done this weekend was get the axle in the wife's car and pulled the old water pump off the engine for the core exchange. I was on call and we had a site go down so that killed most of my Saturday.

 

Well, the engine gets swapped this weekend. Then in 2 weeks when I am off for a week I will probably start tearing the engine down. If anyone wants anything off the old engine let me know.

 

yesterday we got the engine mostly ready to pull, but we were doing it in the driveway and a massive thunderstorm put the brakes on that. So we worked in the garage on the new engine. we got the intake and oil pan off. The new oil pump is installed. I am hoping we can at least get the new engine in today. I have to work this week and I have 2 weddings next weekend so I am hoping the guy I am working with can finish it this week if we don't get done today. I'll post pictures later today or tomorrow.

 

We didn't get done today. However, we did get the oil pan gasket, intake gaskets, rear main seal, and spark plugs in. We got the old engine out and the new one set in place and that is as far as we got.

We got the new engine set in place, and that is where we called it quits for today.

 

Well, the engine is in and it runs good. However, I went to take it for a drive yesterday and I have no, speedometer, PRN does not display on my shift indicator, ABS light is in and the transmission seems to be stuck in first gear. Any suggestions on what might cause this?
