Well I started my body lift tonight. As far as I got is the bumpers off and all the body mounts broke loose. Hopefully will be complete tomorrow and it running again (electrical problems). Im considering getting rid of the Jimmy tho.. Its a bitter sweet deal but I found a pretty nice 99-02 Silverado (just looked at it havent talked to anyone or anything about it) at a car lot here thats a 4.3 from what I can tell with the 5 speed. Its all up in the air right now so we will see.

Looking good! you have convinced me to do a BL finally, I was always skeptical bucause of how low the frame sits from the body on the 4dr trucks. But it doesnt look so bad!

No I was actually impressed at how little the frame exposer is too. The frame doesnt stick out like a sore thumb. Im going to go ahead and paint the frame now tho since you can see it a little more.

Total time maybe 6-8 hours.. It was spread out over a few days due to South GA heat so I cant work on it during the day. Granted the fuel tank was out of my way (having pcm b fuse pops so i was checking the connection at the pump thats why its on the ground in the pics) and I did this all with hand tools. I have no impacts or electric impacts or anything. The hardest part (to me) is the mounts above the rear axle and the front mounts are kinda a pain to. PB blaster or WD-40 is your friend. I soaked all the body mount bolts pretty good and let them sit an hour or so before I started wrenching on them. You having a 99 they might not be quite as bad.

Mine are probably worse, truck has lived in Chicago all it's life until I moved to Michigan a few months ago, it took me two days just to do the shackles. And that's with a plasma cutter haha. Thanks for the info, and good luck with the truck! Like I said its looking good!

Yeah my truck was a beach truck from Flordia and Myrtle Beach SC before I got it so theres a little rust but probably not near as bad as up there. No problem anything you need to know your welcome to ask. And thanks it still has a long way to go but its getting there.
