'95 Revive - $500 Barn Find
#11
Well... new oil cooler lines are on... radiator to the filter head was cake... took a total of 10 minutes.... filter head to the adapter on the block was a major PITA! Took almost 2 hours... would have been easier with another set of hands but its done and no leaks thus far... we'll see tomorrow.
The factory lines were shot... I could spin two of the rubber hoses inside the crimped fittings... I'd say they could have failed completely at any time.
Anyways... its got insurance on it now so I'm gonna start driving it... and finish out the little things. Hopefully all goes well

Put a hundred miles on the blazer today running back and forth to a somewhat local rifle range... no leaks thus far.
I noticed I was having a shift issue before we left for teh day... well apparently I forgot to check the trans fluid... 3.5qts later, it was shifting great and was full. I checked the fluid at the barn when I went to look at it to make sure it was clean and what have you... I never checked its level after I got it running... just didnt think about it. It was almost like someone serviced the trans and topped it off without it running...
Otherwise... where did the tranny fluid go since I'm not seeing any leaks anywhere... Something I'm gonna be keeping an eye on for sure.
Also fixed another issue that popped up... temp was fluctuating like crazy... $5 radiator cap fixed a small leak and got temps back in check...
So far, I'm very happy with the little blazer and I'm certain my wife will be too.
I'll be driving it for the next month or so while my daily driver is down... currently building a 4l80e to survive in my '03 Z71 tahoe... sitting on 35s and powered by a 4bt-a Cummins diesel. Got plenty of pics on that project too but that'll come later

Update...
Got a box of goodies in the other day...
So I tore into it again for a FULL tune up and catch up of overdue maintenance...
While doing so, I located the missing 3+ qts of transmission fluid... it was in here...
Pulled the transfer case and replaced the input seal along with both output seals and serviced the trans...
Ran out of time on the other stuff... only had a couple hours to work so I got it all back together and driveable... Will finish everything else tomorrow... wife works late so I'll have all day.
Getting close to being a reliable daily driver... kinda already is... but more so..
Anyways... more to come.
