96 SFA Swap
Yeah can't run the oem replacements, and i found the poly bushings for it... I'll be much happier with these anyway. No progress waiting on a buddy to get me some steel then i can make the spring pads, shock mounts, and front rear shackle mounts. It has also done nothing but rain, hopefully it clears up soon I'm ready to get this beast rolling!
No progress, just alot of brainstorming while waiting on some cash to build up. Since i have to regear the axles, and replace half the **** on my front axle/new spring perches due to it being SUA stock should i just try and find a factory axle with 4.10 in it, are there any NT 44s that were SOA from the factory? The 44 i have currently is a low/std pinion so to get the correct caster, and pinion angle i will need to grind off the knuckles and reweld something i can do, but would really like to avoid. Should i get some GM d44s and shorten the long side?
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!

scout axles should be SOA and are about the same width as a s10 also another popular swap was the old ford bronco dana 44s, like the late 60s broncos. i just ran fullsize axles cause its what i had laying around also when the tires stick way out it helps protect the body. you can run rims without alot of offset and they dont stick out to bad.
i really dont have alot of pics of my truck with the rollers on it. this was during the build

Dude dont get rid of the waggy 44, thats the best of the bunch NT 44.
Just swap some gears into it and weld on some perches for SOA...
Look up Rabbits build on s10forum... he's running one without cut/turned C's and hes SOA with Dakota rears up front. Caster is more important than pinion angle... especially with lockout hubs.
GM d44 is passenger drop, If anything run a f250 D44... but if your going full width might as well find some 1 tons.

Thanks big i already have the Waggy axles and welding on spring perches will be easier than going to the Boneyard and pulling new ones also ive only seen 2 scouts at the local pnp both of them have been robbed. I was just thinking and trying to get out cheaper lol thanks also km and will do on the build... ive been trying to read all of them over there takes awhile tho :P. yeah i wont be going full width the way the tires stuck out with 31s was just enough for me on the verge of being too much especially when it rained all the road muck ended up on the side of my truck
Another question... Can i run rodeo ring and pinion/lsd with the correct install kit. I have looked it up but the threads on pirate 44 just confused me more. oops diddnt see what was on your post on s10forums... what umm install kit do i need to do that anyone know?
Thanks guys without yall i wouldnt even of known where to begin.

Try to stay away from the scout axles, they have weird knuckles with long steering arms, and the pinion sits flat, if not down when you have correct caster angle so you need to rotate the 'C' to correct this.
I think you are on the right track already. If you want to regear, there are a lot of 3/4 ton trucks out there that came with dana 44s and 4.10 gears in the front.

Thanks diaita, yeah i believe you are right im just trying to be sure before i finalize everything... Getting paid tomorrow so ill order everything else needed to finish, and make a trip to the candy store/pick n pull lol.
Get the front end installed, then start working on the rear swapping it over to disc with a weld on kit, and using rabbits bastard pack of leafs he made. She should be rolling soon.
Thanks big... Ive seen how they treat people with questions from searching for answers they would rather troll someone than help them. Glad y'all aren't that way cause i'ed be screwed
