as long as you build the 4L60E right it should be able to handle it. the stock is not gonna be able to handle the horsepower though. hey if you got the money why not look into a camaro tranny

like a t56, you'd have to do some fabrication though, i don't know if it would be a direct bolt up to the new engine though

That stock 4l60e will burn up pretty quickly. Unlike what the guy above me said I would suggest keeping it and having it slightly built. It will keep it simple and with a shift kit, higher stall converter, trans cooler and maybe a slight build it would kick ***.
Im sure you could take a few people by surprise!

Sometime in the summer im gonna buy a new transmission either a 4L60E or 4L80E from a website (monstertransmissions.com) my friend showed me, they have a nice warranty, rated up to 500HP for the 4L60E for $1,725 considering i spent $3,000 on the 6.0L i don't think this is too much.

http://racetransmissions.com/store/p...roducts_id/377

They also sell the NP-136 transfer case which im thinking why not just replace it too,

NOW... my biggest concern which my friend, and his dad brought up is that the rear end in the bravada won't be able to handle the torque produced by the 6.0L, other people have said this as well. I did see a S10 with a 6.0L on another site and i believe he had a stock rear. So how much can it handle? My friend said the rear end out of a 98-00 z28 camaro would be stronger, true? i wanna cover every end of this, i don't wanna blow the rear end.

So stock Rear End stability?

And the front end cv joints?

What size is the bravada's rear?

I found a 8.5 on ebay from a zr5

as far as torque goes a camaro would have a slightly stronger rear end. i would look in to something with a 1/2 ton setup, you'll sacrifice some speed though...

Update:

Sorry for the lack of info but a lot has been going on in my life, Work, family, friends, fire dept, school, plus the lovely problems my little blazer has been having since the winter storm.

Due to fact the Bravada is a shell and requires an engine (which i have but will require a significant modifications to make it even work), a transmission, lines, all new interior, I've come to the realization that this is too much for me, my $20,000 budget which i had estimated would cost to finish this completely wasn't going to be enough.

So it sat for most of the winter, couldn't do anything on it anyway because of the cold

Then my blazer started having problems which were costing me in excess of $300 a month... New radiator, new water pump, new heater core, coolant because of leaking, new fenders, new hood new hoses new brakes, then the passenger CV axle started binding and the Drivers side hub/ or axle needs to be replaced, that was the last straw, the blazer was getting to expensive to maintain.

So with my tax refund i put a down payment on a new car (08 Pontiac G6 GT) will cost me less than either vehicle, in gas and maintenance, plus it looks nicer lol.

I'm still keeping the blazer though, its my first car and its never left me stranded, its never failed me, sure it needs fixes but it would run till the wheels fall off if i needed it to.

By next week the Bravada has to go. I'm sad to see it go because i had so many plans for it and i bonded with the car for 2 years. Despite all the work i did i don't consider this to be a waste but a really good educational experience. I've learned so much about this car and what I've learned has been invaluable, but its just an eye sore right now and its too much to make it what i want.

So when the Bravada goes i will have all the exterior body panels including front bumper(and new front support)(no rear bumper). Also i have the Dash board, many interior panels, a clean 8.5 limited slip disc 3.73 Rear axle from a ZR2, and a 6.0L V8 LY6 Crate Engine, the engine i need to sell, and the axle unless i could get a good amount for im just going to put into the blazer. If anyone is seriously interested in the engine message me, i would like at least $3k for it since that's how much i payed for it.

So if anyone wants something PM me and I'll be glad to get rid of this stuff, i have some of the engine components as well (haven't inventoried it all yet) if you need something feel free to ask me cuz i don't have use for this stuff anymore.
