Been looking at a nice zr2 for 1500 with no reverse, been trying to talk the wife into that, my mechanic quoted me 600 to do the re and re on that if I get it

That's my option for selling the malibu...

as it stand the blazer will be back on the road with a new heart at some point...

I found a Z engine. I'm not with my blazer but I'm 97.5% positive I have a W engine... so I'm trying to find info on swapping the block and heads over, taking the efi and intake from mine and putting it on a Z engine... I dont want to get it and it not work, my mechanic is preaty sure it's just a swap over.... I just need that third person to speak up and shell be back on the road, or a longer search for a heart...

So I found 2 engines,

1 is 500$, removed form vehicle and advertised with 180k

2nd is a complete zr2 s10, 5 speed manual with a cowl hood and aftermarket street bumper and tail lights, owner says he thinks it has 270k on the engine but isnt sure as battery is dead at the moment. Its 700$, might offer 600 if the km are that high.

I'm trying to double check on the engine tho as they are both 03 and I have a 99. And I swear I've read somewhere that I need a 99-02 engine...

all goes well, itll be rear axle, front diff, leaf springs, hood, the dash pieces, the plastics pieces that covers the sides of the windshield, any holy $#!+ handle, apparently has an intake setup. And then I'll sell any other good pieces I see to make up some costs of the swap/repair.

He says there are spare parts aswell, so whatever I dont need that comes with it will be sold as well...

 

Oh oh oh..... I almost forgot the best part of my day!!!! I came home to find a nice little box I forgot I was waitting for! So now all I gotta do is stop by the shop and put them on, or wait until I get the truck back. Thanks again red!! They are just what I asked for!

I don't see how you can go wrong for 600.00 on the Z. I'd still try to get the price down to 450.00 or 500.00.

 

I'd go for the z take what you want and part the rest. I bet you could make most if not all your money back. Swap engines and then rebuild your blazer engine when you have the time and funds.

 

Going to look/pick up the truck on Sunday. I figure I'll get it no matter what, I can either (a) part it out and make my money and get the blazer back on the road, (b) get new lines and drive it
