So the zr2 shocks are 1/4 " too short when the suspension is fully assembled and off the ground, let alone 3" shorter then the Rc ones. So they will NOT work.

upside, I got the ball joint pushed in, AND the little clip on! Lol. I think theres pics a little further back in this thread about the ball joint sizes, if not I'll put some pics. I'll also take a pic of the diameter of the hole if someone would like to compare lol.

i think I'm going to save up a little and get rough country to send me a pair of upper control arms and ball joints.

 

All slapped together, and added some bed liner. Not the cleanest or preatiest, but it covers the rust and does the trick lol.



still need to swap out the ****ty idler arm, but that's another day...

 

Considering the down time glad your finally able to just use it again. Curious, no don't break it down but I'm thinking that ball size issue reminds me of even the torsion bars come in like a half dozen different sizes for the blazers. Seems like Gm did a lot of tinkering for no good reason. Well, may it run true and not let you down.

 

thank you sir, I honestly think it was a mixup on RC end, either welded the wrong hole, or gave me the wrong control arms. But I didnt think that a full size 2010 truck would use the same small control arms as these little guys lol. Oh well, drove it to work. Drives better then before.

 

Used the wifes sonoma to pick up my zr2 axle and front diff. Going to slowly clean them up and swap them at some point.

Oh, as evidence of the red rust, it looks like you got one of the steel ZR2 front diff bodies! Nice score!

 

That's what I was thinking! Lol. I was under mine the other day, and didnt look as scary as that. And then was trying to remember the difference of the front diffs of the zr2s.
