99 Jimmy 4 door 4x4 SLT
For some reason the rear speakers in blazers & jimmys always die. Mine were dead when I got my blazer. It most likely isn't your wiring. I would bet anything that your speakers are just dead.

The weather has been bad, so haven't gotten the rear speakers installed yet. I have no doubt it will be a huge improvement, though.
Thought about adding this:
New Alternator High Output 220 Amp For 4.3L Chevy S10 Blazer 98 99 00 & Gmc Jimmy:Amazon:Automotive
Anyone know anything good or bad about that brand/model?

Got my rear speakers installed this afternoon and they sound great! Huge difference. The factory ones were just dead as Tajohns34 had suggested.
In addition, I ordered my next mod, should be here before next weekend... :-)

The weather was great today, so I got this junk ripped out:

Here it is with all the stock stuff removed:

Installed the heat shield:

However I drilled the top hole too large. Luckily I has a sheet metal screw that was the size of the hole I drilled. Also, as you can see from this picture, there was no way my drill was going to be able to fit in that tight space to drill the bottom hole. It seems secure without it, though, so I didn't worry about it.

Installed the intake plenum:

Got everything else hooked up:

The instructions say not to let the intake be in contact with any other part of the vehicle, but I found that to be impossible. It's a pretty tight fit. I don't know if there is a minimum clearance for the filter, but it's pretty close to something on all sides. There's a little space, so that may be fine. I just don't have any first-hand experience to know for sure.
Also, I took it for a very short test drive and found the throttle would stick a little in the closed position. I backed off the intake plenum mounting bolts about a half turn and that seemed to take care of it. I'm hoping to test it a little more tonight of tomorrow to get the full effect.
