This is to adapt an s10 unit bearing to a dana 30 to keep the ABS happy.

Cleaned the t case.



I had a question as to how much play should be between the input and front output shaft so I checked a t case with only 50 000 kms and compared it to this one.

This is what I found. The current point is the starting point with the front output fixed (unable to move). The second mark is where the arrow went to in 4 hi The third mark is where it went to in 4 lo.




Both T cases had the same amount of play so I will install the 233c with the fixed yoke. I also checked the oil condition and it looked used but good. No recent oil change to hide problems.

I got a bit more done today. I picked up some rear spring perches that needed a little modification to fit my axle but it is done now. I also picked up some ranger shackles and hangers. Unfortunately the bolt was seized causing me to have to scrap the hangers and bushings to save the shackles.

One of these things is not like the other.





It is now.


I had to do these holes too.



The holes were to mount the stiffeners that run from the engine back. The first gen t case had the bosses, just no holes.

First gen t case with the fixed yoke is now installed.



I also found a bad u joint on the rear drive shaft. I will deal with that later, but soon.

What front shaft are you going to run?

I don't know what shaft yet. I can make my own than have it balanced if needed. I need to see what the angles will be when the sas is done to see if a double cardon is needed or not. I am 2wd right now and I think the shaft will be fairly easy when I now lengths and joint types.

I'm open to suggestions though.

Started playing with spring hanger designs. Bolt up is the plan for now then weld when the springs have settled and I am happy with shackle angles.





I also started the template for the dana 30 truss.







More parts are supposed to be arriving this week end. I hope to get this done quickly when i get the parts.
