Finally got the Blazer out on some trails yesterday and it did awesome with the exception of one rock light breaking and my posi-lock setup. I had been having trouble getting it locked in starting about a month ago so I replaced the cable with a more heavy duty type pull cable and it seemed to work fine in the shop but when I tried to use it on the trail it took 5-10 mins of fooling with it to finally lock it in. It stayed locked in for almost the rest of the trail until I hit some thick mud and all of a sudden I had no front wheel action and had to be winched out. Gonna try some WD-40 and a gear oil change in the front diff and see what happens. But anyways here are some pics from the trail and of the new cable and also my switch console setup that I got from an old police car!

I definitely need a different shift boot

Not quite finished yet so excuse the messy wiring.

Also I had 4 rock lights left over that I didn't use so I put them on my winch carrier in the holes where the handles used to be. I put a switch on the control box and wired them up in there, turned out great!

Thanks for the link to those lights, I ordered 24 of them. Hopefully you're still happy with them lol

Just be careful when you wire them that you leave some slack. Unfortunately my wiring was a little too tight and the wires pulled out of the back of one of my lights. other than that they've held up great.

Well, it's been a busy two weeks in the shop since that trail ride. I replaced a CV axle, the 4WD actuator cable that comes out of the differential, and put full synthetic gear oil in. I put on a Rancho steering stabilizer and a Moog idler arm, which was the beefiest idler arm I've seen for the Blazer. And I did front brakes, a caliper and a brake hose! I'm ready for some more trails this weekend!

Default Go Rancho? No Rancho!

So this happened on a trail about 2 weeks ago...

Completely snapped both rear Rancho shocks in half! Not 100% sure what caused it but my guess would be a combination of the shocks being topped out and the axle trying to wrap up while climbing a ledge. I know there was some serious wheel hop going on. So I'm just ridin around with no rear shocks currently.

Had a fun trail ride last night, little bouncy without shocks but had a great time and got some good footage.

Did a quick "Post Trail-Ride" inspection Saturday morning and everything looked good so I hit some more trails in the afternoon. Had a ton of fun! Anybody that would like to come wheeling in the Harrisonburg, VA area let me know, I'd be glad to lead a few trail rides.

Got some new LED interior lighting, I had switched to all red LEDs a while back and they look good but they are no where near bright enough to find stuff in the dark. So I left the dome light red and put white in the map lights, they work awesome!
