Good job. FYI there is a whole race class designed around those little single piston engines. There is a whackload of tuner parts too. Ive seen 5hp Briggs motors that make about 40HP running these mini drag cars for kids to race in. Just in case you ever want to make it faster.

I'll definitely think about it. I've got plenty of time to tinker with this little guy. Right now I just want to get this thing up and running.

Sorry to psych you out on that one. That was the only example I could find on the internet on what the seat was going to (kinda) look like.

Tonight after work I'm going to get the motor hooked up.

Well, I didn't get the motor mounted. First thing was to see if the clutch that I had would work with the new motor. That's a big negative. Now I need to find a clutch for it. Also, the air filter is almost black. lol. So, yeah.

I found out what kind of bike I have. It's a Lil' Indian Sabre. It's got different handlebars on it than it originally came with. As I said on the first post, I got it from my uncle, and my uncle got it from someone in the early '70s and he told me that it is as original as when he got it. I don't know how valuable this thing is in it's current state, but I'm sure it's a pretty penny.

I finally, after hours of hard work and sweat, got the tires off of the rims. I will be getting them sand blasted very soon, and get them painted. I'm leaning more towards black.

I also need to get a new clutch. There is a lawnmower shop here in town, and I'll stop and see if they have one. If not, I can get one on ebay for $20.

Ok. I got the motor in position to be mounted. I just need some better bolts to hold it in place. The ones I have now are rusted beyond repair. I took some pictures of what it's going to look like. Pretty nice if you ask me:

After a couple hours last night, I also finally got the tires off of the wheels. It was a daunting task because the tires were fused to the wheels. We had to literally cut the tires off. They were dry rotting anyway, so it had to be done. This is what the inside of the rims look like:

Thursday is the day I'll be getting them sand blasted and painted. I work until 3pm, and after work is when I will get that done. I'll also be priming them, and then painting them black.

Absolutely. I plan on getting some alcohol and a shop towel to get it nice and sparkly. I doubt I'll get it completely clean, but who knows what's under that dust and grease. I bought a new air filter today on ebay for $5. So, once that comes in, it'll get installed.

Next on the purchase list are tires and inner tubes and a clutch. Then I need to get the throttle cable hooked up. I have an idea on how to get it hooked up, but it shouldn't be too hard.

As for brakes, I have no clue what to do on that. I know I can buy some that would work, but I wouldn't know the first thing to look for.

I just ordered a new clutch. It should be here within the next week. Also, I will be getting some things sandblasted this Thursday. Should be fun.

I'm also going to be cleaning up the motor pretty soon. I'll get some pics of that after it's cleaned up.

Over and out.
