Default Custom Roof Rack - 93' Full Size Blazer

Hello, I'm new to this forum. Thought I would share my builds. I wanted a roof rack for my newly purchased 93' Full-Size Blazer 4x4. I took off the OEM rack and wanted something better that would hold all kinds of crap including off-road lights. I looked around online and decided no way in hell was I going to spend $400-$800 for something that was crappy at least. I went to the local welding supply shop, spent $30.00 on metal, and here is the completed product all painted and ready to be mounted. 1" Square tubing all around. I cut all corners at 45* angles to keep a hollow inside for wires to be ran for lights. Painted rust free gloss black. Bolts to OEM holes on roof. Size about 49"w X 80"L X 7"H with 2.5" risers.

Bottom Frame being built:

5" Risers being cut:

Completed Roof Rack with Paint and Lights:

Finally, Roof Rack Mounted:

I'll mount it soon and take a final picture and post it here soon. I plan on making a custom front bumper and rear bumper with tire swing as well so I'll keep you posted. Hope I posted this in right spot .

Enjoy!

Nice! Welcome!

I am going to be remaking the rack on the top of my K5 at some point. Problem is that right now, the rack barely fits under the door in my garage. Anything taller and it will hit for sure.

I would love to raise it up another panel. It would give me more room under the door when it is open too! I have aspirations of building a 40x60 shop out back though and in that case, the garage would be just a garage and no longer a workshop!
