help on locking hub
Hey whats up guys im new,hope to be around a long time love my blazer and im keepn it,anyway i am changing my ball joints and i have to take of the knuckle and it says take of the locking nut and ring and adjusting nut,thing is i dont know which is which never done this before.Does anyone have a pic that shows which is which and what to use to take it of.Tryna save money and get it done myself.Its an 89 blazer v10 4x4 full size and its the front hub and bearing.

All of that stuff is in the front hub. You have to remove the outer portion of the locking hub by first removing the screws that hold it on. You will then see the large nuts that need to be removed. It helps to have the proper socket to remove them. It will have 4 square protrusions off the end of the socket. It helps to have a large sheet of cardboard handy to lay your parts out on as you take them off.

i have the cap of i can see the components inside just not sure which is which thats what im tryna find out,is the a name for the tool and can i get it from autozone or any other patrs store?And thanks for the tip on the cardboard

Do not worry about which is which, but if you must know, the outer nut is the lock nut, then the lock washer, then the adjustment nut. It really does not matter when you keep track of the order of how things get assembled.
It should be available at Autozone. It will be called a "4wd spindle nut socket" or something to that effect. Just make sure you get the one with 4 lugs and not 6. The Dana-44 and the Corp 10-bolt (what you have in your truck) use the 4 lug version.
THIS PAGE shows the removal process (do not pay any attention to the caliper part though). It is practically the same for a Corp 10-bolt as it is for the Dana 44.

thanks swartlkk thats what i was looking for thanks so much cant say how much i appreciate this now i can fix my truck its bin on jackstands for a month i am starting a new project on the suspension in a few weeks or months when ever i get the cash but im sure i will need you help then too so thanks and ill be around alot trust.Be easy and agaon thanks.
