Looking really good. Nice job on the body work.

nice job hope to start on mine soon.... did you use a reg wire fed mig welder with or with out gas ?

Thanks guys, I'm happy with how that part turned out especially considering it's my first time doing bodywork.
I used my flux core welder, so no gas. I think MIG might turn out a little nicer but it can be done with flux core just fine.

It isn't a showroom paint job but it sure looks like you never had any rust.

Paul gave me a hand today, we got a lot done
First, here's a picture of the grill installed from yesterday

So first thing I worked this morning was getting the front driveshaft installed, well it wasn't going so well so I gave up and installed the tcase skid plate and then started cleaning up all of the threads of the bed mounting holes.
Then Paul arrived and looked at the driveshaft and realised the u-joint had the wrong sized caps on it. (hence why it wasn't going so well for me) We scavenged the caps off of a broken driveshaft and then it went in no problem.
I topped off the fluid in the front diff and while I was doing that, Paul got the third door swapped over.
Then we finished cleaning the threads on the box mounts and welded a new nut in for the one that broke off. Then we got the box put on! woo hoo! It's a complete truck again

After Paul left, I worked on putting the interior back together. I managed to get the third seat and panel around the third seat installed before stopping for supper.
After supper I finally got the passenger seat recline handle fixed using the method
Paul came up with.
It involves using a guide to help keep the drill bit centered in the slotted shaft

Then tapping the hole

And installed the larger bolt into the tapped shaft, then the handle gets held on by the smaller bolt with the slots doing the work when the handle is turned

And here it is all installed with red Loctite.

Looking really good. I like your fix on the seat handle.

Thanks, hopefully it'll hold up long term. I don't see why it wouldn't but you never know.
The brake lights aren't working for some reason, I was going to work on them today but it was to bloody hot. Sooo, I decided to work on getting my new birthday present installed instead.

Still need to figure out the actual mount, but it's all fitted and positioned properly.

Thanks
Paul came over again today to help figure out why the brake lights weren't working. I think he was here all of 10 min before he figured it out lol. There was a relay missing from the fuse block. Then we tightened down the rear bumper and took it for a drive
Interior lights weren't working either, traced that to a blown fuse, replaced the fuse and interior lights are working again.
I need to get a few bulbs to replace some burnt out ones and there's a few more minor details to finish up but I'm planning on taking it for a safety next week.
