Jamaroon's S10 ZR2 Trail Rig
#81
Interior is almost completely removed from the S10 now. Carpet, 3rd seat, headliner and a few trim pieces are all that's left.
Seats are out, steering column is out, dash is out, pedal assembly is out. Now I need to fill the hole in the floor on the Sonoma and I can start putting the interior back together.

Finished off the floor tonight, it's not perfect but I think it's pretty good considering I've never really done any bodywork before.
Ground down the welds

Filled a few more holes

Ground down the welds again, and done

Then I started looking at the steering columns, I was planning on swapping the lock cylinder from the Sonoma to the auto column from the S10 to keep the key correct to the truck. I would have had to swap the wiring over as well because the wiring from the S10 was hacked up and the clock spring was broken and gone long ago.
After looking at it a little, it looked like it would be much easier to just take the shift lever off of the S10 column and swap it over to the Sonoma column.
The Sonoma column already had the hole for the shifter, but they weren't threaded so first thing I had to do was tap the holes.

Then removed the bolts attaching the shifter

and drilled out the welds holding a bracket on

Removed shifter assembly

Then I transferred it to the other column, and welded the bracket on

Looks like you're making good progress. Are you still planning on driving the Sonoma this winter?

Paul and I got a fair bit of work done today, we completely removed the wiring harness from both trucks and re-installed the harness from the S10 into the Sonoma.

Then removed the front windshield

And then the rear window.

I had also painted the floor with Tremclad, it's all dirty from doing the wiring in these pictures.

Ran wiring for the power seat

Installed the pedal assembly, and mounted the body relay block

Installed the carpet

Transferred the wiring for the power windows and locks from the driver’s door of the S10 to the Sonoma. The actual conversion to power windows will wait until everything else is done, but I wanted to transfer the wiring for everything now while it was torn apart.

Looks like you're making some decent progress. I hope you can get it ready to drive for this winter.
