Jamaroon's ZR2
Well yeah, the build will happen here too.
But for everyone to be up to speed, here's the plan for the SAS on the Blazer (rest of this post is copy and pasted)
There are a few of the details in there already but not laid out all nice and tidey.
So, the truck is a 1999 ZR2 Blazer, 4.3/4L60e/np236.
Plans are:
- D60/10.5 from a 2004 F-250 - Purchased

- D60
. - Grizzly Locker - Purchased
. - Warn Hubs - Purchased
. - 5.13 gears - Purchased
. - Need to buy install kit
. - Planning on shaving it
. - Hubs turned down and converted to 8x6.5
- 10.5
. - Welded for now, would love a selectable, might leave it welded or go with an auto locker. depends if I come across any good deals
. - 5.13 gears - Purchased
. - Need to buy install kit
. - Not shaving it but, maybe smooth it out a bit
. - Hubs turned down and converted to 8x6.5
- Wheels and tires
- 5 - 39x13.5R17 BFG Krawlers - Purchased

- 6 - Factory Silverado 2500 Wheels, Painted - Purchased

I'm hoping the wheels will work out, if they don't then I'll have to go with a soft 8 type wheel.
- Suspension:
- 3 link front
. - 2"x.25 wall DOM Lowers, 2"x.243 wall DOM Upper - Purchased
. - Metal Cloak Duroflex joints - Need to buy
. - Threaded 1.25-12 Weld in bungs - Need to buy
. - Coil springs, not sure what type yet - Need to buy
. - Shocks - Need to buy
. - 1.5"x.25 wall DOM track bar
. - Not sure what I'll use on the ends of the track bar yet. Don't want heims, I want something a little more sealed from the elements. Likely going with a johnny joint
. - Axle will be pushed forward around 6" I think
- Leaf spring rear
. - Leaf packs from an S10 ZR2 to push axle back - Have
. - Spring over
. - Shocks - Need to buy
. - Axle will be moved back probably 3-4"
- Steering
. - Astro box - need to buy
. - Not sure what arm I need - Need to buy
. - 1.5"x.24 wall DOM for drag link and tie rod - Purchased
. - High steer arms - will make with my buddy, need to buy material
. - 1 ton TRE's
. - Hydro assist - Need to buy
- Brakes
. - Factory Ford disc brakes on all corners - brakes on axles look ok
. - Hydro assist system out of GM Truck - Need to buy
- Body
. - Trim until the tires fit, want to fit it in the garage with the 39's on it. I believe around 28" to bottom of door is the target.
. - Make tube flares for tire coverage and keep it legal
Then there's all the other little stuff like adapting the brakes to the Blazer lines etc that I'll figure out once I'm at that point.
I doubt I'll be doing any actual work on the blazer before spring. I would like to start on the axles over winter though. I don't get a lot of free time these days so it will be slow going.
Hopefully not too tall. I'm aiming for close to the same height as Blaz's but on 39's instead of 35's. I want to still be able to fit in my garage with a 7' door.
As long as your willing to cut the body you will be able to keep it somewhat low. I'm going to swap out my front springs when I put my 60 in and push the axle forward hopefully about 4" and I'm hoping to lower it a bit and then swap in some different rest springs as well and cut the rear accordingly. The only thing in the way up front after I push the axle forward is the bumper and that will be changing anyway. You should be able to fine tune yours even more since your linking the front you can get it right where you need it.
Just went to get the link to blznup's thread and saw you were the last to post there so I guess you've already seen it lol! I'm going to bring mine down to about that height as well.

I noticed you took your top rack off. What did you do with the screw fasteners..You just temporary caulked them up?I want to take mine off ,since I never use the top rack at all.I think it looks a whole lot better withot the rack on anyway. But some people like to haul stuff on top.
