Johnny Blaze: The Build
#51
Johnny 5 is alive!
Back to running with a new Delphi pump.
I paid 5 more bucks for the other Delphi at autozone. Compared the two.... First one must have been for a 2 door as it was an inch plus taller. New pump had a better seal, as the 1st delphi had an o ring.
The new pump's 3 plastic lines were about 45 degrees off from the original and the other delphi. I sawed the orientating plastic peg off, ground it down a bit, and moved it about 22ish degrees back, and secured with the lock ring.
About 2.5 hours later, we had the tank up and in, and the Blazer fired up!
We drove to the gas station and filled her up. Got home, and I tightened down the strap bolts again. The rear strap bolt still has about a 2 finger gap... But I believe that is how it was when I pulled it off.
Planning on checking the bolts later today, and over the next few weeks... I get paranoid about this kind of stuff.
Anywho, here's some pics to show the struggle;
Old OEM pump
Old OEM Straps
Old lock ring
Old hanger bolt for front strap, aka PITA POS
1st Delphi pump after the mishap

Fuel filter changed, going to try and change it frequently so it won't rust so badly. Lol
I keep accumulating ... Summer is going to be busy.
Two GMC Jimmy Envoys at the lot I went to today. I managed to get the rear bumper cover off one, and the rear hatch window with attached spoiler /3rd brake light;
I'll get better pics once I cleanup and install. Cool texture ,though.
Tried to get the spoiler off of the 1st Jimmy...
... Didn't work out. Not sure how it comes off ..
.. So I purchased the entire piece of rear hatch glass!
Found a 1996 Olds Bravada rear cargo mat, as well. My 99 Bravada cargo mat is getting beat up pretty good.
Also an fyi: I visited the Blazer I originally was looking to part out. Not worth the trouble for the price, I deemed.

Sorry this doesn’t pertain to your build but for whatever reason I’m not allowed to say anything on your selling thread. Interested in the skid plate if its still for sale you can email me, hunterturner6@yahoo.com to communicate easier

And if anyone is interested in aftermarket turn signal housings WITH (stock) fog lights... I ran across some on ebay.
They are listed as not working for models with factory fog lights. The ones I received, and pictured in the ad, will work with factory fog lights.
Only thing I've found that I don't like, is the passenger side fog lamp hole is molded upside down...so either trim the housing or trim the inside of the grill to get it to function, I guess. I'll post pics when I get them put on.
