Just another 2000 Blazer LT repair build
Ah, gotcha. I didn't happen to notice it anywhere on mine, (I wasn't really looking), but I did a little search and found that someone said it was behind the carpet and rubber down by the brake pedal somewhere. Also found in the S10 forum that theirs was just to the right of the heater/AC controls.

Been quite a while since I had an update!

My son is now driving the Blazer full time. It is working pretty well for him. We gave him a Sony multi-media deck and 2 sets of cheap Boss speakers. Along with the install kit and steering wheel control module. I helped him install the new audio, and it sound pretty decent for what we spent! I think I spent a total of about $160.
I still am not happy with how it starts. Realizing now that it never goes high idle at start to get things moving. It just drops right to low idle, which at cold temps will cause it to die right after start. If I rev high in place and let off full, it drops to almost 300, want to die, but recovers. Hoping it's just the IAC, cheap fix. That's what I'm going to try first besides testing all the vac lines.

Time for an Update!

Made a separate post about the starting issues, and got some help from some good members. Looks like the IAC is good. Ended up doing a reset on it, and I think it may have worked along with one other tweak! It's warm now though, so we'll have to see how it behaves once it gets cold again in the fall.

A/C system update

Yesterday I "rented" a dual gauge set and vac pump from the local AZ so I could see what the AC system was up to. When I first got the Blazer, I just tried throwing a can of 134a in, and when I removed the connector, it just all sprayed back out....bad schrader valve. I replaced it, but haven't tried anything with the AC until now that it's getting warm out.
I vacuumed down the system for a few minutes to 30hG, and then shut off the pump to see if it would hold vac. It would hold good for 30 seconds, and then it would bleed off. SO I suspected the compressor, since it is all still original. I removed the lines, and re-oiled the gaskets for them and re-installed. Same results. Then I decided to check the rented gauge lines WITHOUT them hooked up.....had the same vac results!!! Guessing there was a bad valve somewhere in the gauge set, so I couldn't trust it. So anyway, I vacced out the system for about a half hour to get all the moisture out, then disconnected. Instead of trying to troubleshoot blindly, I put a can of 134a with dye in it to see if and where it was leaking....and added another can of cheap stuff to get it almost to capacity, then let it run for 20 mins. She blows cold now, and using my UV light, I can't see any leaking dye! Will have to temp check it and keeping looking, but it seems like it might be good to go! I returned the gauges and vac and made sure to let them know there is a bad valve somewhere in there.
Add to the "to do" list: Found a pile of axle grease on top of the lower control arm just under the driver's side short axle rubber boot.
Not sure if the guy that aligned it got grease everywhere or what. The boot looks good, no rips or anything. Cleaned it up, and going to have to keep an eye on it.

Well, had a backslide on the A/C issue. Thought it was holding refrigerant, but after a week, it seems to have all leaked out. Good thing I put the dye in there, you can clearly see it all around the compressor. Guess I'll be hitting Rock up for a kit.

Thank you. Yeah, I ordered the kit from Rockauto. Has a Sanden type compressor, accumulator, seals, and orifiace tube. Should come tonight actually, shipped fast! Probably work on it Saturday.
