Well was supposed to start the lift today after i changed the distributer cap and rotor.
but found out that the (explicit) previous owner had zip tied the cap to stay on because the screw holes that the cap screw into were destroyed.
SO after I put the new cap and rotor on, I had to zip tie it also to make it home. On the way home I picked up a new distributor from the scrap yard. So now tomorrow I get to replace my distributor instead of lifting
so yah, now i cant start the lift till next week, cuz I have a hockey tournament this weekend.
Ugh!

Not sure if I am correct on this, but with the new keys it allows you to go a little higher than the stock keys will go. I dont think it is much higher .5 inch or so. I could be worng but I beleive that is what I read off of a website that sold the rough country lifts.
As far as the other parts, the upper arms will cause less stress on the ball joints on the top. And the shocks are a bit taller than your stock ones so it will give you a smoother ride. Ask anyone who has cranked theirs up, it is a very rough and hard ride.
The rough country kit runs about 450... thats a good price for what you are getting, ball joint, shocks, shackles, keys, and upper arms. You will be able to fit 31's after installing the kit. Good luck with it and let us know how you do, before and after pics please.

I am pretty sure the new torsion keys add more lift without cranking them due to the degree in which the torsion bars go in. So in theory once installed you could get 2 inches of lift on top of what you would have after having the original ones cranked in the first place, otherwise why would they even give new keys.... Thats why the term rekeyed is used on some leveling kits. They also sell adjustable keys for some trucks that you can adjust what degree you have the tosion bars enter the keys. Heres a pic.

so on another note, yes you should install the new keys!!!

thanks you guys, thats more like what I was under the impression of
so:
1. keys are gonna go in
2. I cant get off the distributor, tried in auto, my teacher too, so tomorrow is gonna be brain storming to get it off. It's just the one bolt that holds down the whole thing.
this blazer has given me such a headache, it's really making me not like chevy's :P
but hopefully once i get everything good, the car starts paying me back some in some happiness. haha

why change it out if only the tabs are broke? black zip ties should fix you up.

well i already bought the part, and I want to have the certenty that the zip ties wont come apart while i was driving.
That would be devastating.
and I'm gonna be driving to Montana in July, so I need everything running and put together correctly to make the trip.
So rather safe than sorry, you know?
