my 1985 4X4 SLOWEST build ever
WELL, Im still looking for an engine, and I opened a bank account which tied up a few hundred dollars...so meanwhile, I removed the hood, and started prepping for primer...im gonna try duplicolor..see how that turns out.....ive done it on my 63, but that was with my gravity feeds......im using a conventional hvlp for now

here you can see the spray gun....pretty high dollar looking for its day....

Got it in primer...just gotta let it dry so I can wetsand it again to get it smoother....here it looks bluish, but its more gray/white

here you can see how white it really is

well.....just a word of advice..a cheap gravity feed gun is WAY better then a conventional..I should have just had my mom ship me my gravity feed, but i was in a rush....it was actually warm enough today to spray..
here is the passenger side..it came out decent, but I didnt have enough clear coat to do a good job

here is the hood overall...it needs to be wetsanded, and cleared again..i didnt have enough clear though..itll have to wait until tomorrow or friday

and here is why a regular gun sucks.....when the seals "dry out" I guess, when you tilt the gun to be 90* to the surface, especially on a flat surface, paint pours out of the top, and anywhere it can...I moved the gun SLIGHTLY, and half of the clear poured out UNDER PRESSURE....WTF...BUT this happened only on the clear, so a good wetsand, and reclear should fix it...if not

and yes that is a chip I didnt sand out fully....it was deep, and smoothing it out would have taken it to metal......I really didnt want to strip it to metal, because I didnt want to have to seal, primer, sand, primer, sand paint, sand, clear, sand....i only have ~ 7 hours in the morning to do what I can to the blazer...Otherwise, Ill be working on it at 10pm....right now in reno @10pm its ~ 50 degrees..NO THANKS lol

engine still has to wait unfortunately, so i decided to put the torsion bar bolts back in...i didnt crank them all the way, just enough
..there are 4" blocks in the rear
....stock u bolts and 2" lift shackles are on order

I bought 10 more cans of my favorite engine degreaser, and went to town again....why? you ask? because i hate gettin greasy when swapping engines..plus Ill still be building this engine over time, and a clean engine is easier to disassemble...plus I have a fetish for clean engine bays...here is another crappy shot of the clean engine...less sunlight made for a better pic with my cobra dc325

thank you guys for the kind words...im kinda bummed right now...well...more excited then anything....I was looking on ebay and found some NOS emblems for my 71 d100.....I had to..it was $105 shipped, so there goes a little more of the engine money...oh well..my 71 is complete again atleast..then I found NOS turn signal housings for my 63 with the super rare clear lenses for $30 shipped each....
Man I HATE havin multiple project goin at one time....what i hate more is when good cheap parts for ALL the vehicles you own become available AT THE SAME TIME
i did score some nice sport mirrors, and deep orange grille lenses too ( for the blazer)...
i am now officially unemployed...maybe I should now change the title to project: unemployment
hopefully when I get another job ONE of my vehicles will be dependable enough to take me to work hahahaha
rant/vent...OVER lol

Ha ha ha, I can remember when I started lifting mine, t-bar crank and shackles at first then that wasn't enough, 3 inch body lift, and now I'm really looking more for axles for a SAS.
Its all a very costly downhill fall, I just hope when I hit the bottom its high enough to climb back up
