Does anyone know if 2nd gen or trailblazer seats will bolt into a 1st gen?

Love the stance of your blazer. How hard was it doing the body lift? Did you have to do a bunch of extras like moving radiator or anything like that? Nice rig tho. Give me alot of inspiration for mine!

So your strictly running a 3 inch body lift and 33's for that ride height?

Yep, that's it. When I got this set of tires, they would rub on the frame, so I ended up getting some 2" spacers. But with the spacers I had to trim the fenders just a little. I probably could have went with some narrower ones, but I do like the wider stance it has now.

Alright I've decided that the center consoles in first gens suck,...so I'm building a new one.

I'm using mainly 3/8" plywood for the structure with a piece of MDF as the base to attach it to the metal mounts in the blazer. I traced the contour of the old console so it will fit well. Also used the old one to match the height.

Assembled

I got some of that "replacement" carpet that comes in a 3' x 6' roll from walmart and upholstered it (not finished quite yet as you can see).

It's kind of difficult to see in these pictures, but the rear most section where the "bin" is, it is actually a separate component. It will be hinged so anytime I would need to get to the electronics in the console I can just swing that part open instead of pulling the whole thing which is a PITA.

Also, another project I'm working on is the 350 build. My brother and I got the long block put together last night and I painted the heads, block, and intake tonight.

He's taking automotive classes at Linn Technical in central MO, which is close enough to St. Louis where he can drive back on weekends to work and more importantly help me on the blazer Even better, this is his last week of classes for the semester so he'll be home. Were aiming to have this engine swapped in 2 weeks!

The V-8 and the stock 10 bolt rear end scare me though. I have a rear end out of a scout. I want to jump up to 4.10's but that would need a different carrier. And if I'm going to invest in a carrier, I might as well just get a locker now since that would be the plan eventually anyway. The only thing holding me back is the $$$. Damn lockers are expensive!

And Gio, every time I'm up at the shop I forget to take a picture of those gauges...It won't be that exciting of a picture, but I promise I will get one for you.

P.S. Congrats on ROTM too!

Ahh yes! A center console build. I'll be staying tuned in to this thread to see how that turns out.

Took the blazer out to Mudfest this weekend.

Still don't have the front driveshaft back in so it was a 2wd. (Technically one tire fire with the open diff)

I didn't hit anything TOO huge but also didn't get it stuck. I love those Duratracs!

Off to the shop to powerwash it and start that engine swap
