Update on the blazer. Powerwashed off all the mud only to find more mud. Cleaning a truck after its been in the mud is not the funnest thing in the world. The timing works out for me though since I am switching out the engine, I can take everything apart and clean it well.

Now for the pictures

4.3 out

Taking more stuff out

Engine bay painted

And the most important part

And it sitting over there mocking me

Still need to get the oil pan addressed. I ordered the extension from JTR. The 4.3 pan gets cut and the 4" extension gets welded in. Easy enough except it needs to be tigged and tig welding gets delegated to my brother who conveniently just left for welding school at MWI. He says he'll be back this weekend, we'll see if he can squeeze me into his "busy" schedule.

Other than that, everything else is just a matter of putting stuff back where it needs to go! Hopefully I can finish this soon, because my wife chauffeuring me around sucks!

Not much space at all to spare.

I do say almost ready to roll because I'm working out some bugs with the computer I installed to accommodate the vortec heads, intake, and cam I put in there.
If anyone is familiar with Dynamic EFI let me know. If anyone is not familiar with it, get familiar....DynamicEFI Can you say TUNABLE OBD1?!? It is awesome, you can do virtually anything with this that you can with an OBD2 set up.

Not to mention you can plug it up to your laptop for real time monitoring, has a self learn feature, and a lean cruise setting for better highway mileage. Also I've been reading where a guy has been tuning where his truck will run on E-85 Ethanol. How cool is that?

Well, that's it for now, hopefully my next post won't be as far between.

If anyone has any ?'s about swapping a V-8 into a first gen, I'll be more than happy to give any advice to the best of my knowledge/experience.

Did you look into going EBL at all? I'm still slowly planning out my TBI swap.

Short story, no. I stuck with a flat tappet. Ended up using Comp Cams 12-249-4.
