The HID kit showed up. I got a Pilot 6000k Hi/Lo kit. It has metal ballasts and a superbly made wiring harness. I also got a pair of the Eurolit3 brand composite housings that are really nice. They have these stupid LED things though.

Will install them and post photos this weekend.

I also made a deal with a coworker. He has these black wheels on his 4x4 S10 that are too wide and rub his stock height fenders. He will trade me the mags from my old truck, for his black steel wheels straight across.

OK, so the Eurolite housings I picked were too small, I needed the 6054 lights. So I went and bought a set of the ones they sell at JB Power center for $5 more than the ones I ordered, and they are GLASS and have no stupid little LED inside them. I will use the smaller ones for rear facing HID lights that will get modded into the rear rollpan eventually.

Installed the HID kit to find that the left side doesnt light up... Fack. Was too cold to do any troubleshooting, will look at it this weekend.

Man, Oh man, does that ONE light ever light up the night though! Cant wait to get a replacement bulb and have them both running.

I am still on the hunt for another truck so I can park this one. The guy with the 01 black blazer with the dead transmission - $400 - wont sell it to me cause hes being a baby about me kicking out his friend who didnt like paying rent... Ive gone by a couple times with cash it hand and he keeps saying he will think about it, then I get a nasty text from his friend that I kicked out about how hes not selling it to me. Ive got the cash, chains to pull it home, and a second driver to steer and brake, this thing is only a few blocks from my house too... Ah well, he will either sell it cause hes sick of me stopping in to ask, or hit me... Either of them is OK cause I would tan his hide for being a ***** and not being straight up. I should probably go get the VIN checked for liens, that may be why hes pussyfooting around selling it too. If I got his truck with a lien on it, I would be an angry man.

There is a girl I know 100km away that has a running and driveable 1st gen blazer she would take 500 for. Thinking about driving out and having a look at it one weekend.

The plan for my builds engine is this!!! I know I could swap in a 350, but this is different from anything anyone is doing, and its alot easier to use all stock parts like injectors. There is a cool intake that uses the MPFI injector and a front mount 90MM throttlebody that I would put on as well. It looks like an aluminum LS engine intake but with the MPFI injector hidden inside.

4.3 stroker. Found a rotating assembly online with Keith black components for $1500 shipped... Bumps displacement up to 4.7L @ .040over with 3.75 inches of stroke and a 4.0 inch bore. Trim .010 off the deck and heads, and put a nasty cam in her, should make gobs of power, and outpower a stock 350 anyday. How cool would that be, and it would sound amazing with straight pipes, headers, and the baffles out of my tips. Would post the adress, but its saved on my work computer. This would be the largest V6 around. Aparently the square port heads I have now are fine to use but to have the ports polished and reamed out and possibly oversize valves. It would cost about $1000 to have the heads done as well. I figure $2500 + possibly another $1000 to have a badass V6 is just as good as spending that much, plus more, plus more headaches to do what everyone else is doing which is the V8 swap. This truck is all about being unique and different, so this plan definatley fits the bill.

I know people that I can get the machine work on the stock block done by and save some money... Just have to park this thing and yark it out.

Thanks man, if you watch the thread over the years I plan on tearing it right apart and putting it together all badass and stuff.

Its funny you should ask, I had one light never work... And PilotHID is impossible to get ahold of to discuss how I warranty this kit I overpaid for a "Name"... So Im stuck with a half working HID kit, 2 sets of housings, and scratching my head thinking about how I can get a working kit out of this 299 + tax spend on it.

DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM PILOT HID COMPANY PLEASE

I really loved how the one light looked, and the guys at work bug me for spending that kind of money on headlights that dont work... So I called HIDextra yesterday and ordered their kit for my application, my online transaction didnt work cause my mailing adress didnt match the shipping adress so I had to talk to a person. They charged my credit card exacty 120.00 can for an H4 6000k BiXenon HID kit, with ballasts, hi/lo relay, and 2 bulbs, shipped pre-paid... The exact same thing I had before, but Oktain said he has had no issues warrantying if need be from canada, so I bought them. My package went from SanFran to Oakland overnight, on its way to Edmonton Alberta whenever it gets here. I will most certainly put them in and get some photos for the thread as soon as I have them in hand.

I will be making a roofrack one day, and it will have my smaller housings mounted in it, with a 40,000k (green) set, and the foglights will be 3000k (yellow)... That should make for a stellar night/fog/bush driving combo. If these new ones impress me, then I will get the other kits from www.hidextra.com again, as they are so cheap, but not as cheap as some, and I have read good things about them.

As for the blazer, havent done anything to it, its so cold here, and my driveway is very steep combined with crap tires, makes it really hard to get back in the garage. Work is close. I still havent found the right blazer for a DD... I guess Im just collecting more parts until it warms up and teardown can begin. I would like to get the windows out, doors off, interior out, fenders off, and body off in the springtime and on stands on the opposite side of my garage. I think with a few buddies we can lift it and walk sideways? Then the engine and drivetrain will come out and wait. I will start with the frame and suspention (superlift 6") cleanup, paint and install. For any welding work, I will try to prep it all and have it ready, and hire a welder and his truck from the online ads, Im sure to do some cool work like this he would give me a break. I plan on adding some stregnth to the framerails by boxing them in, replacing the stamped crossbars with stronger material, and running as much of the lines and wires down the inside of the frame as I can to clean up the look of it. I also want to make my park brake cable run down something so it can never snag. Custom skid plates would be awesome too. More of them down the bottom too...

Injector unit packed it in. This is the one I got from a junkyard for 30 bucks Im talking about. Its up in the garage where its going to stay for a very long time now. To begin tearing it down when it starts to warm up. I want to find a set of those things I can put under the tires so I can push it sideways out of the way since it wont be driveable.

Oh the HIDs worked, I have more photos that I havent uploaded latley. Sometimes the one side just doesnt light up, but works on high beam, and most times they work just fine. Im sure its a ground problem but Im not concerned as I will be taking it apart soon. My works busy and its colder than a witches tittie here latley. Ive taken her and fired her up to run for groceries or smokes a couple times. First time it ran out of gas. Buddy took me to get 20 litres, then I drove over and put 20 more. Was really cold and I took it to and from work 3 times - thats 4km each way. Ran out of gas down the block on my way home... Obviously the leak is bad, so I check the oil, way over full, stinky... Drained it and put my last oil change back in it. Got about 9 litres of fluid out of it. Jerried it back up in case I need to get to work and cant catch a lift. I got 1 trip this time, and on the second day it crapped out a block away agian. Some milage huh? 10km to 40 litres including a little warmup time. My buddies gonna come take me for some fuel and laugh at me a little later on, then I promise it wont leave the garage again. A friggin big block would use less fuel. I should really try and get a video of it running and me lighting the flammable stuff that drips out the exhaust tip after a few minutes.

SHES DONE... Now bring on the warm weather, I ahve to see how much stuff I can get done in my 4 months of nice weather!

I would really like to take the engine out and run it on my engine stand with a crankcase full of water and make a video, but I need the ECM and all that junk to make it run... They go about 5 minutes with no oil, I wonder if it runs longer with water?
