Yeah, I'll be converting it to manual next summer when its not so damn cold. The shop just called and it was a bad TCCM cost $250 for the part, labor and diagnostic. So, not too bad in my opinion.

Just picked up a freshly modified harness by Sho-Me-Speed with 3 wire hookup and provisions for speedo, tach, oil pressure etc and wired for the 4l60 from pirate for $250! After some research on the pcm that came with the motor it looks like it is the one from the 6.0 and setup for flex fuel that has the blue/green connectors so I am going to sell this one (if anyone will buy it) and pick up a 411 pcm.

This post was from yesterday but I forgot to post it here!

After searching options I just went ahead picked up a set of 98/99 F body manifolds off Ls1tech for $60 shipped from Cali so I'm happy with that purchase. I was looking local and the only set I found was an hour away and the guy wouldn't budge off $100 so I jumped on these right away. I also spent some time cleaning up my valve covers and oil pan today just to feel like I accomplished something.

What I started with

The lady at the grocery store said I was such a nice husband for picking up supplies to clean the kitchen lol

And how I finished. I took the time to sand off all the flashing and south them out cause I'm considering hydro dipping them since I have a shop right around the corner that will do them for next to nothing for mev
"Deflashed" right before left

And smoothed out. There's a few small areas to clean up yet but nothing major.

How well does Hyro-dip hold up against engine heat and oils/grease?

The reason i ask is because i had my AR Hydro-Dipped and after one defensive drill class it had already worn off.. Although, I was crawling on the ground, throwing it in mud, dropping it and abusing the hell out of it.

They claim it is guaranteed not to chip peel or fade for life. The company by me says they use 3-5 coats of clear on top of the actual film to help protect it better.

Hmm, yeah i guess that could work. I know on my rifle the tolerances are so tight that you couldn't do that.

HA! I didn't even recognize those parts as valve covers until you cleaned them, LOL!

My Silverado is still fairly new with only 73k on the clock, even though she turns 8 this year. V/C's are still shiny.

Read through your 141 pages after a week. Looks good and appears that you have done it in the right order. You almost had me thinking about selling my street/strip car to buy a different Blazer and do something like this. I've been evaluating life/future and this seems safer than driving fast.
Keep up the good work.
If someone cares to PM me about making the EVAP system disappear I would be interested to know what's required. SES is on because of it and I'd rather not have the light on since it runs bad enough that I should watch out for a more important code.

If I could figure that out, and get it public before getting tossed in prison by this administration, I'll have completed my life's work.
