Looks really good, what's planned for it next?

After I get this all wrapped up with the back, I want to do a light bar on top. IMO, the light bar would set the Blazer-Lanche off just right. I want to give this thing an off-road look without going to far if that makes sense. Like I still want to park it in my tiny one car garage at night so a lift is out of the question but the light bar and a front grill gaurd would be sweet.

Sounds awesome I love my lights that are on top!

I'm always hitting low branches with mine.

I bet there could be a way to build or come up with something to put in front of them on the bar itself to keep the branches out of the lights.

Hey guys. I havent been on here much. Just a little update. Im still looking for someone to make me a custom top for the back. But, however, Im really happy with cutting the top. As of right now, Im getting 30.4 MPG. I drove to Kansas City from my hometown which is 3 hours one way to get my buddy(he flew in from Afghanistan for R&R) and had to wait 2.5 hours for his flight to come in so I drove around and then back to a town that is an hour from me on half a tank. I put 265 miles on half a tank and with an 18 gal tank, that averaged 29.4. I filled up in Bethany and drove the hour back home and that was last wed and I currently have 3/4 tank of gas and 151.3 miles on it. Im gonna fill it up later to confirm that the gauge is correct.

In the UK that would fail any safety inspection which would be mandatory with such a major body modification. You've removed a good chunk of the structural integrity of the body shell, especially in the event of a roll-over. This is why most convertibles weigh more than the comparable tin tops, because of the extra bracing put in to keep the body stiff. At the very least you need a decent roll-over bar in there to make it safe. I know this isn't as important in a vehicle with a seperate frame rather than a unibody BUT it does have some impact.
Sorry to be a nay sayer as I like the idea, but as a fire fighter you of all people should be aware of what happens when a vehicle rolls over and how much the roof forms part of the safety cell in a vehicle.
