i hope so...i have all the parts i need to finish the job.
i just have to have the axle done by someone else, i have no idea how to rebuild an axle.
the heads i have out this week for a pressure check and milling...should have them by the weekend i hope.
then
reassembly and paint engine.
clean out engine bay
most likely some brake line work (they look nasty in the bay area)
clean bottom...not really rusty just dirty and i figure what better time.
paint axle and put back in
engine in
tune (can be put off while i drive it)
then.... all summer!!!
of course i expect murphy and his law to show up....so yeah hopefully july worst case.

Wow... even in 95, I was not aware they made that style Mustang with hubcaps!
Build looks fun. I have considered doing the same with a Camaro since 'stangs have always (except the newest bodystyle) been too small for me up front.

yeah, i think mine was probably the most base model you could get.
no power anything
no tape deck
hubcaps!!
base base base...no frills at all.
so i added the amenities i am used to

ok, well a nice busy day at the mustang stable.
i got the oil pan off and re-did the timing chain and tensioner.
i have the heads back but i ran out of time today.
the harmonic balancer was a p.i.t.a to get off....oh well.
i am now on the down hill as far as putting it all back together.
hopefully by next week it will be totally assembled and i can start prepping for paint.
then on to the axle and underbody clean up.
pics of todays work and last week head removal shots.
lookin good progress wise

ok guys i would like some opinions and criticism if you see fit
i am thinking about paint layouts for the mustang....tell me what you think.
i am going for the old school mustang look...rear louver lifted rear and wide *** end tires.
here are some crude chops.....it is not photo op ready right now, for any current pics.
pic of the rear
roof and spoiler
hood and roof and spoiler
the finish on the paint will be satin....was thinking flat...but satin seems like a better choice.
ok shoot away

Hood might look ok satin if you had a scoop on it, otherwise it usually just looks unfinished IMO. The rest looks really goofy in my mind. I wouldn't do it. Especially the louvers or lifted rear.

but those are my favorite parts!!!
thank you for the input.
i wish i had a hood scoop....i have been looking at getting a new hood, but that looks like a budget hold over till next year.
i have always been a fan of old school sports cars...what can i say??
like these pics....now granted i am no where near a Mach I...but i can dream
maybe i should have taken better pics to shop...but thats why i put it out there.
my other thought was a total two tone job with the whole top half satin black from the body line just above door handle on up.

I dont like the louvers because they block rear vision. The scoop... I think there is a kit where you chop a hole in the hood, saw it on Horsepower Tv a while ago.
The rear lift is something you do with a lot of hp... You'll have people revving at you every single stoplight.
