yup, i agree Philip. i have the 5000K bulbs in my LB & HB's, and while i thought i should've got the 6000K bulbs, i've noticed a few guys that have them do indeed have a definate blue tinge to them. a very slight tinge, but still noticable. to me anyways.
Just a heads up, 5000K=6000K when you're talking DDM.
Also, for warranty, unless they changed it if your ballast goes out on you then you have to ship back the burnt out ballast on your dime, and they'll send you a new one... on your dime...
Not that I'm advocating for HIDextra, but if your ballast does go out, you just cut the wire, email them a picture of the ballast with the cut wire and they'll send you a new ballast for FREE lol.
Just do some research before you buy. On another forum I see so many "Don't buy DDM HID's" it's not even funny.
*EDIT* Just found this: http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forum/g...ml#post5153341

although that last point is kinda moot, since they plan to be gone from the market in the next 5 weeks.
Looks like HIDextra might be the way to go for long term support.
I was kinda wanting the 6000k because it has a blue tinge, but isn't blue to the point of uselessness.
I'm hoping the HIDs will work okay with the headlights I am supposed to be getting. They have a focal point reflector that puts the light off the reflectors of the housing.
The negative I see is the bulb possibly being too long and hitting the focal reflector. Does anyone know if HID's run a lot hotter than regular bulbs? Melting could be an issue.
On the positive side however, if they do fit, the reflector should put the light off the housing the way it wants the light to go. I've read a lot about the factory housing directing HID light all over the place, and into other driver's eyes due to the added length of the bulb, so it doesn't sit in the focal point.

i need to take out the drivers HL to swap out the defective HB ballast. maybe i'll throw in a stock bulb for the day, see what the surface temp "feels like".
really don't think there is too much difference though. i use snow to keep my HL's clean during the Winter, so i'm framiliar with the "melt rate".

once you get them dialed in correctly, nobody seems to "flash" you anymore.
@ least that's how it's been for my.
