Well i figured since i was planning on doing some work to the ol K5 ill start a build thread.

To start its a 1985 K5 blazer with a 4in lift(not verified) long tube headers and 35x12.50r15 tires. It was advertised with a 350 dome top pistons and a mild cam. After i put a new carb on it i found out it is a 305 block so im not sure if they put a 350 rotating assembly in the 305 block or what but the motor will be replaced eventually anyways so i dont care that much.
It will be a slow project with lack of funds and it being stored at my parents house due to my lack of space.

To Do:
Fix rust
Fix rear window/replace tailgate
Remove interior and build custom
Replace motor with new 383 stroker
New springs front and rear
swap axles to D60 front and 14BFF rear with 4.88 gears

Done:
Added edlebrock 750 carburetor
New Monster 700R4 tranny
Two new Thrush weld mufflers
Fixed rear brake lines and replaced wheel cylinders

 

383 Stroker w/ 4.88 gears.. wow! I look forward to this build. What gears are in it now, or do you know?
Its a good lookin K5, no doubt.

according to the sticker it has 3.08(i believe) gears now

Ya it will be slow going for a while prepping for a deployment right now but after i come home should be steady improvements
