well i bought a 82k5 today and i'll be trailering it over to school then leaving it there for the portion of the complete restoration. i'll get pictures up either monday or tuesday when i get it moved.
*if anyone has a picture of the k5 dash and instrument cluster, post it here cause im going to redoe the dash cause some kid hacked it all apart. or if you know what gauges were stock.
thanks
dave
anybody that has any ideas as far as improvements i can do, or anyone great at wiring. cause someone screwed up the wiring, the ignition has 2 toggles, any way to wire this back up to ignition?. the main project to begin with is taking all the seats out and redoing all the flooring.

what trucks and years would have a gauge cluster similar to the k5. cause i cant find a k5 in a junkyard anywhere near me. wondering if an early silverado or a 1500 (yes i know they are basically the same thing) or a gmc truck (interior would be probably be nicer) i need the front dash basically, i'll get pics up tomorrow of how bad this dash is.

glad to see the VIN checked out for you. was it a 6.2 truck, or the 350?
the dash is the same (save for odd options, like the clock) right up to '91 for the K5's & 'Burbs, '87 for the p/u's.
and i did the dash in my '78 LB the same way cheifum did in his, but i mounted my pods on bushed aluminum.
these trucks are probably the easiest truck to customize the gauge clusters in.
sharp looking truck by the way, looks like a great score.

bodys in great shape for an 82, gotta keep in mind that is 28 years you're staring at. one piece of bondo on back quarter panel, floor panels and electrical were top on the list. now the 4wd is 3rd up there, hopefully just linkage adjustment, you'll see what i mean by electrical nightmare tomorrow, pics will prove.
