thanks. yeah haha i finally had the time to drive up north to pick it up. gotta run to school now but im gonna order he sensor later. my trans is angry at me after i held the gas pedal to the floor through a swamp the other night. it doesnt want to shift out of first gear.. you think its blown ? it was low on fluid when i checked it- would changing the filter and fluid make it come back to life?

 

check the vacuum line going to the trans (if it has one forgot what trans you used) make sure its got vacuum if so check the actuator too

 

its a 4l60e

 

Mine doesn't shift due to the vss not being hooked up that might be a good spot to check. See if the wire got tore off

 

got my new trans yesterday. 4l60e with 47k miles on it
hopefully the rain lets up tomorrow and i can blow it all out in one day. anybody know any tips or tricks to drop the old trans ?
mud hop is coming quick, gotta make a front driveshaft!!!

 

yeah so i have the 4l60 not the electronic one.. apparently 92 was an in between year? i dont know.

 

wouldnt that make it a 700r4 then? i think the way to tell is the 700r4 has a actual kick down cable where the 4l60 just has the electrical. i dont really know but i could see their being some weird in between year trans that costs like $2000 from the junkyard cause they only made it for one year

4L60 means the same thing as 700R4. They changed the name at some point to better align with the rest of the automatic transmission nomenclature.
