So I decided to email the led guys to ask them what the status was of my shipment. They said that my shipment had a small delay and that they would ship them on Monday and include the soldered versions for my trouble. So that sucks just a little. My stuff won't even leave China for another 4 days.

Only 10-15 business days till I get them! Gawd I'll never order from them again... Unless these reflectors are really really cool.

Finally. Almost a month and a half after I ordered them.

Here's how the reflectors make the leds look in comparison to just plain leds. (This was the parking lights.)

The tail lights overloaded my camera inside.

But outside they are a bit difficult to see, but the reflectors really help in the daylight.

^If you notice, the one strip is light up, but without any reflectors, you can't tell they are on at all.

And here's the config. I will be using in the tails.

Just need to solder them up to see how they do outside.

Yeah me too, but I might be waiting till friday to buy some real leds. Seeing as these are my only turn signals on the rear I'm not sure I like how dim they looked in the daylight.

So I ended up frying 4 of the leds cause I'm an idiot. So I'll be getting some real leds tomorrow. In the mean time I decided that I'd do a comparison between 'china leds' and the HPWT leds.

So here's the shot of the china leds all wired up and good to go.

This will be how the brake/stop lights look.

About 40'

About 75'

And really close.

Man, the hpwt are going to make the china mades look like candles, I promise you that. You will be so damn happy with them.
I am not sure which resistor you are using, but I wired mine in a series of 4 with a 33ohm 1/4w resistor, kept them at about 60mA and I think 2.5v in the series.

But, you know what you are doing. People behind you will hate you because they will know you are stopping hahah!

Side note, those china LEDs look pure red... so the red orange of the HPWT will have more output through the red housing as well. all around, much better setup with the hpwt.
I have tested the hpwt in direct sunlight, and its still 2x as bright as the incandescent.

Yeah these boards I'm using are wired two in series so I'll be using a different value resistor. Probably a 120 ohm.

I just thought it would be interesting to see how big of a difference they make side by side.

I am curious of why you only did 2 per series instead of doing lets say 4, and using a lower value resistor?

Because these reflectors came with boards that the reflectors can attach to so they don't move around, and that is how they are wired.
