Default Worth it?

Hello all. I'm not currently a Blazer owner, but I did have a 96 4wd auto, not too long ago. After replacing the shifter cable, brakes, and exhaust, I never had a problem with it. I should not have sold it.

Anyway, I was perusing the junkyard today and I came across a 97 S10, 5-speed, 2wd with the aluminum driveshaft still intact. The body was SHOT, but if it would have had rear disc, I would have grabbed EVERYTHING from the flywheel back without a second thought.

So, where am i going with this....Would have been worth it to just grab the 5 speed and the aluminum driveshaft? I can't imagine there's a huge market for the T-5 at the moment.

Ok thanks for any input.

That you are asking, could indicate that the answer is yes you should have kept it. BUT, that is a very subjective decision. The least old Blazer is 14 y.o. so these are only going to need more work. I am keeping mine around because I cannot see buying buying a replacement for a reasonable price. But I also have the ability to work on it to keep it on the road; e.g. an extra car I can drive if needed and a garage.
