Question 350 swap: questions!!

So i'm looking for a 350 to put in my blazer. Ive read the article on how to bore over a 4.3 into a much faster engine, but mines been abused and its rough enough as it is. So I'm letting it go for a 350.

That being said, I dont know where to start.
Its a 1998 Chevy Blazer 4 door 4 wd and the plans are to make it a mud truck with a 6 inch lift, body lift and tires
thats all figured out except the engine.
If I could, id go car berated. or should i go Fuel injection?
Engine mounts the same?
headers?
Tranny?
4wd?
Sierra 4wd tranny fit in a blazer?
I'm completely lost.

If those answers could be answered than my thanks goes out to you lads!

AHHHH OK, Not a fan but I have seen these things sling some big mud. You need to start by asking yourself, Will I climb at all, little or a lot? The next ? should be how hard will I be mudding in it? Then finally, Will it be a trailer truck or will I be driving it to the trails. These questions will need to play the biggest role in your build. The hill climbing will the most important for you. As you may know on a stock vehicle your oil is picked up through a sump and it will at the back going up and forward going down. You might want a dry sump system. Your carb will also suffer in the same way in relation to the bowls. If this will see extreme use and you want it reliable use a fuel injection type system. TPI is a favorable system for my off road buddies. The injection system will be good for about 350 -400 horses and can take lots and lots and bouncing. A carbureted system can't generally take real heavy abuse, bouncing ,banging trees, each other what ever the hard bouncing and bottoming out. Last but not least is the streetability. If you are driving down the road and johnny law dawg sees you, are you going to get tickets out the a$$ or are you getting a nod and a thumbs up? Big tires and tall suspension, mud flaps, lights, all this will need to be figured out before start your build ( at least have a good idea of where your going with it). I have seen a sbc with a 700r, transfer case (not sure which one) and set of collapsible shafts and these little SUV's are a very potent climber and mudder.
