Default Clearing Engine Light..

Long story short...engine light came on for a reason that I riced...need it to be cleared. Anyway to do this without a obd2? dont wanna go allt he wya to the dealer to get it done. Cant u do it in engine port somehow? 2005 blazer 4.tree

OBD-II Requires that to turn off the "check engine" light (MIL) you have to use an ODB-II tool. From what I have heard is that AutoZone will read the scan codes for free and may even erase them for you. No going to dealer to pay for it. You should have the code scanned and remember what it is, it might require work to be done that would be covered by warranty.....failure to do so would invalidate the warranty according to manufacturers fine print.....

yah the intake filter fell off...so it was a no brainer thing. jsut need to get rid of them.

I heard you can take off the + battery cable and put it back on after awhile so the computer kinda forgets

I always heard to disconnect the battery for 30 seconds to reset the computer for when it sensed a problem that was soon fixed, but it didn't work for my abs light.
