I have a 02 s10 blazer and was wondering if I could use a 4.3L V6 out of a 99 s10 blazer? how could i tell? or does anyone know?

There are a few differences, but most can be easily accounted for. The one that will get you is the knock sensor mounting. On your 2002 engine, the KS is bolted on with a somewhat small metric bolt. On the 99, it will have a threaded in KS that attaches via a tapered pipe thread. The two types of knock sensors are not compatible so you would have to find some way of filling the hole & then drilling/tapping whatever you use to fill it for the same metric thread as the bolt your 2002 block uses.

If you have a late model 2002 (like mine), it doesn't have an EGR valve. You would have to figure out how to wire / hook that 99's into your system in that scenerio.

^^You would have to get you're PCM tuned to turn off the EGR valve.

Putting an EGR engine into a non-EGR car, just block off the passages.
