Default fuel filter bolt

Just changed my fuel filter, guess it was time, black gas came out the back end. Anyone not put the bolt back in? I didnt, just clipped it with the rest of the lines. Seems sturdier than my sis' Cavalier that has no bolt on it either. Just did her filter and a tune up right after a 12hr shift at work so I am pretty sore about now.

Black gas in your fuel filter is a bad sign. The black is usually an indication the the vanes in your fuel pump are wearing out.
