as said you have to reprogram your speed limiter or there are chips out there that you could by to replace the factory ones to completely mod your ecu. yes speed [sm=sigh.gif]is fun i know i love it myself.[sm=badidea.gif] but a blazer is not meant to keep up with the imports or muscle cars, so i would not bother messing with it's speed regulations.

but, on the other hand,if you're going to build the blazer for speed, i highly recommend lowering it significantly. this will dramatically decrease the chance of you rolling the blazer at higher speeds[sm=gears.gif]. thus making it safer[sm=signs003.gif]

I know that GM sets the governor according to the speed rating of the tires on the vehicle.. Heck my old Lumina Z34 topped out at 200km/h and stuck to the track like glue.

I got my old '85 S10 up to at least 140km/h on a downhill (and I was still the slowest person there, lol) but ONLY so I could make it up the other side at more than 60km/h... And it wobbled, and it rode squishy and all in all, not a good idea, lol.

I had my jimmy up to 160kph and she still had more to give......that was plenty fast for me.......left a 06 dodge dakota in the dust

and even at that speed the truck felt pretty solid.......

If you need to go in excess of 160kph (100MPH) on a regular basis... You shouldn't have bought an SUV, lol

At least, one with 4x4, if you happen to have it...

I had my 99 Camaro up around the 210km point once.(Built for it)
Thats all I went that fast (130mph) when I test drove a 02 Z/28 completly stock. Im just giveing ya crap Ive heard people of people going around 162 (speed limiter)in the LS1s and the front gets really light.Unless the car is built for going that fast (suspension, tires, and aero) I wouldnt go that fast for long, like get there then hold it for a few seconds then let off.

Camaros/Firebirds were governed at 126MPH

Lumina's/Grand Prix's/Buick Regals/Cutlas Supremes/ any other W-Body were governed at 124MPH with the 3.4L TDOHCor3.8L engines, except for the TGP which was a 3.1 turbo, governed at 124MPH, all other 3.1/3400 or smaller engines in the W's governed at 112.5 MPH

I found my 128mph limiter real quick while I had my SSEi on the track at Watkins Glen. Was much more fun than my old Intrepid's limiter at 115mph. That extra 16mph difference on the long straight aways makes the corners really show up quick!! Will be much nicer when I go down for another go at it after I do some light modding.

Thats depends on what tires they were equipped with from the factory. Z/28s with z rated tires and SSs have no limiter.
