Default lt1 t56 swap

Well im trying to get some info on the swap. Ive seached around and found a lot of stuff but not exactly what im looking for. I currently have a 96 4.3 2wd 5speed blazer. My plan is to purchase a wrecked camaro with the lt1 and t56 6 speed trans as i can not part with a manual trans. My main questions are has this been done before? What additional things will i need? Am i still better off getting a plug and play wiring harness? Id like to keep the truck looking as stock as possible so i dont want to change the guages. Any information would be great. Any links and input would be great as well. Thanks guys

Shouldn't be too terribly hard... not sure about the tranny tho, but heres a link Stealth Conversions S10 V8 & V6 Parts to some mounts etc... You will also have to modify an oil pan. Some use a 4.3 oil pan and weld an extension in, or you can buy a custom made one. Headers are also an issue (clearing the steering column)
350 mounts will work... apparently the 4.3 mounts are just narrower.
Also heres some more info. S-10 V8 Swap Wiring Harnesses

Edit: slowc5's 5.7 with a t56 in a 96 s-10 build thread http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f213/9...-3-pan-331263/
