LT1 Swap
Alright, so I have a 2001 Blazer 4x4. I've had it for about a year and basically everythings stock. At first I wanted to say F it to the New England weather and just sell my Blazer and pick up a nice 4th gen SS. But then my cousin had recommended swapping out the 4.3 V6 and replacing it with my uncles spare LT1 out of a 94 Trans Am. This is my first vehicle and I've never done an engine swap before. So basically here's what I'm asking...
-Would be a free engine upgrade, but what exactly am I getting myself into for labor, and additional costs. Would have almost 2 grand to spend on modding my Blazer; i.e Lift Kit, Roof Lights, Shocks, Nerf Bars, Bumper, etc..
-How would this affect the MPG, I've heard it would increase it if anything??? Don't know how this would make sense but please explain...

deff need to do some homework but as for the mpg ...i wouldnt be suprized for it to go up ...bigger motor isnt working as hard as the v6 does (not that the 4.3 really works) but itll work less so lower rpm and ya ..my buddy has a 1500 with a lt1 swap married to a 4l60e (same as the blazers) and at 60 mph he runs 1400rpm and gets about 20 mpg with 33in tires with a full size truck
