Is this one of those fancy little resistors that makes the computer think the entering air is a different temp?

Yup, they're a waste of money. You'd get a better power increase by painting flames across the side of your truck. Save your money for something that will benefit you and your truck.

all you need is a dyno shop that has hp tuner soft wear and a tuner with half a brain.Or if you get the hp tuner soft wear and dongle [summit racing] remove and license your tune for a fee i could get my tuner here in australia to wright up the maps and send you back your tune modified.always a good idea to final check on a dyno provided your vehicle is OBD2 system. Also it allows you to tighten up the shift patterns in the gear box and remove torque abuse functions.re calibrate spedo, change speed limits and adjust just about anything else the ecu has a hand in the control of AWSOME

You can get more mileage out of a good Wax Job than you can out of that chip.
