I ordered mine from engineperformancechip.com. It was about 70 dollars and wires right into the diagnostic port. Has anyone heard any feedback on this brand, good or bad? I went to PCM4less.com and found it via the link there. It boasts it increases 20-50 HP

If that was a deisel 20-50 would be absolutely beliveable along with 100-200lbs of tq increase lol but honestly your looking at a 10-20hp/tq increase and thats pushing it.

Ya i thought as much because thats the most any power programmer claimed. I should have it in the next couple days so I will let you know. I have alot of plans but like any build, it takes money. Im not trying to do anything the cheap way either but definitely creative.

I just need a simple tune to where I get maximum MPG. I'm thinking HPTuners is the best bet, but I've only messed with Megasquirt. I know guys who have two files. One for performance the other MPG and they swapped. But I did not ask the process of that.

This was on a Cobalt too so 4banger.

with a tuning program you need to know what you're doing or you can royally **** something up... Best bet is to go and see an independent PCM tuner to get the most out of the truck. Not only do they imrpove output and efficiency, but they tweek the torque management allowing the powertrain to put more ponies to the ground.

Oh yeah I spent 4 hours tuning my Mazda on Megasquirt. Had a few close calls as far as the entries, etc. This was done at a dyno.

That's why I'm really looking for a easy programmer like they have out for GTOs. Time to hit the search button some more. If I can't find one then I'll have to eat it. This is a DD and towing vehicle...not a die hard project. I did however found out how crappy our mpg is towing a heavy load over a ton of hills in 3. 40ish miles and I wanna say 4-6 gallons. I had to refuel 90 miles before normal. Fuel gauge is not accurate...but not getting into as I know the answer is here and I'm pretty sure my guess is right on it.
