I would like to add to what swart posted. When you remove the tranny cross brace you lower the back end of the tranny. Then you need about 3' of extensions and a wobble socket to get those top two tranny bolts out. On my '87 it is a 15mm socket, on my '00 it is a 18mm socket, and on the '93 it is a 15mm. All three are 700R4, 4L60E 60dgree and 90 degree trannies. In other words check one of the bottom bolts before you buy the wobble socket, unless your going to buy the whole set.

well, here we go, i picked up the seal for a 83 and it turns out that mine is a one piece, if i got the # off the motor can someone on here tell me what year the motor is and what it came out of? it turns out that the motor is dumping oil out of the rubber seal on the back of the pan so now its out with the motor time.[:@]

1 piece rear main seal.

2 piece rear main seal.

Notice the difference between the two crank shaft ends? A one piece seal will not fit over a 2 piece crank.

This is by far the best source I have found to identify the GM 4.3L V6 blocks.

Clicky Clicky

Its how I found out that I have a '85 block that I just dropped into my '93.
