why don't you see about checking out the local wreckers for a "core"?

I don't know the exact definition but after dealing enough with auto parts, this is my understanding. The Core charge is the price for a second one and it's meant to encourage you to recycle your old parts. Like if you buy an alternator or CV axle or something, say it costs $200 but theres a $100 core charge. You pay the $200 and get a new alternator but if return the old one (to be rebuilt or remanufactured) you get your $100 core charge refunded.

When I had my Wait4Me tune done, at the time they charged like $60 for the tuning or you could pay for the new core if you can't send your old one in. It was $160 and they would get another PCM, tune it and send it to you. Then if you send in your old untuned one, you get the $100 core refunded to you.

I kept my old PCM in the event that I needed to send it back in for a retune (like I might do soon now that I have larger tires)

you defined "core charge" perfectly Matt.

did i understand that correctly, they charged you $100 for their core? guess it all depends on your area. my local wreckers was only charging $75 (cash) for one last year while i was looking for one.

Default 2000 LT Blazer W/14000 miles looking for better MPG/Performance

I have read alot of posts and have seen alot of work done. I have installed a cold air intake on my Automatic 4WD. This seems to help a little. My current MPH is close to 15 + or -. This Blazer runs good with no codes. I am thinking of a Cat back exhaust and a PCM tune.

Please suggest a Cat back exhaust supplier and a PCM programming service. Or any other suggestions. I would like this Blazer to at least spin the tires when I punch the gas in a straight line.

Thank you all in advance.

I'm glad someone got a response to their email from them. I've sent 3 emails and numerous unanswered phone calls and no luck.

I've found a local guy that will do it for $125. I'd rather have waitforme do it, but I've given up on them. I even bought a core computer to send to them. If I have the local guy do it I don't need the core. More money wasted because they won't email me back.
