I have a 1983 Chevy Blazer 6.2 Diesel Automatic K5
I am having great difficulties trying to get information with regard to the gearbox? I have searched the internet and I have got books which are useless - they tell me millions of things about Blazers that I don't need to know!
What I'm trying to figure out is when using the lever on the floor to go from 2 Wheel drive High to 4 Wheel drive High, the lever does this but pulling the lever back further is supposed to take it to Neutral and then to 4 Wheel drive Low but the lever doesn't appear to do this? You can only move the lever between the 2 Wheel drive High and the 4 Wheel drive High? Any suggestions??
Also, its fitted with a 6.2 V8 Diesel - The books don't show me anything about the engine, it talks about the engine in great detail but shows me nothing? Behind the Air cleaner there is what appears to be a breather? Its a tube about 1.1/4"" diameter getting bigger at the top and some wires going in to it and its always soaked in oil? Any ideas what it is and what is its function??
