Default 1992 engine into 1996.

Hi, I ordered a GM rebuilt engine at my local shop to be installed on my truck. The engine that arrived is part # L4392W that says it's for a 1992 4.3L Blazer W code. I have a 1996 S10 Blazer LS 4.3L W code 4x4 with california emissions. The shop says it will fit and that it will work. Will there be any problems, or will it work fine so I can straighten things out? Thanks.

Did you get a short block, long block, or complete engine? If its a short or long block everything will probably work A OK.

It's a long block with the heads on it. From the little info I've found, I think that the heads are different and that the timing cover is not the same, but I'm not sure.
