??? I'm perplexed. The only thing I haven't done is look at different timing plate covers side by side. and given that the original was returned with the bad block.. are there any pictures I can look at?

1345 Solved :)
Sensors.. were good.
Distributor... was dead on.
Timing Cover... was perfect, sensor in proper location
OBDII ran test on non-running engine... good
test on running engine... NO good.
So... what gives?
Wiring harness... pinched... wire damaged.
So... replaced wire
and...
test non-running... good
test---running... NO GOOD again.
Uhm... sensor is magnetic... magnetic pulses travel through the wire to count how many rotations... and the wiring harness runs right next to the spark plug wires.... DUH!!!!!!
Insulated wire seperately, and then re-insulated entire wiring harness.
Test non-running... good
test running... GOOD!!!!
no more 1345
